The Ice House

It would be way to walk past this nondescript building at Kepplestone . It is an Ice House. In the 17 th Century it was the only way to store food in refrigerated conditions . This particular ice house is beloved to have been built in the 1820s when the Kepplestone site and mansion were owned by Alexander Low Merchant in Aberdeen .
