Taking to the air.....

....Bar-tailed Godwits off to find another feeding ground on the Ashley estuary in NZ, as they prepare for the Alternative Olympic Games starting 9 February - 25 February, protein is in demand.

A lovely amble along the edges of the estuary, grasses were rustling in the breeze, lupin seeds popping in the heat of the sun, tiny crabs scuttled for their homes as I walked by while, it was so tranquil with just the call of the birds as the estuary emptied out.

My extras are all godwits, as I really couldn't decide, look good on black.
