First Stourhead Blip Of The Year

We took a first (very chilly) walk of the year at Stourhead this morning; i've decided that I need to practise using a monopod with a holiday in a few weeks time in mind, so this seemed the ideal opportunity.

I certainly found that shots with a long zoom were sharper but couldn't resist this classic view of the bridge and Pantheon.

We were in need of a warming bowl of curried leek and butternut squash in the restaurant by the time we finished; interestingly, it was topped with a quenelle of creamed smoked mackerel, something I'd not heard of or had before but it gave it a deliciously savoury flavour.
