Sunset at Russell, Bay of Islands

We picked up our rental car this morning and drove to Russell, Bay of Islands - about 250km north of Auckland.

We were very lucky indeed with the weather. The main blip shows the sunset photographed as we sat on the veranda of the hotel enjoying slow-roasted New Zealand lamb.

The extra shows the view along the beach from just in front of the hotel, earlier in the afternoon.

If the weather holds, we'll do a boat trip to one of the islands tomorrow.
