Peridot
Seizing the day, we took the boat trailer to the farm, trudged down the muddy field, over the fence to carry on yesterday's work on Peridot. You can see how high up the shore she's sitting!
We got the main mast down pretty straightforwardly, using the wooden crux devices as supports, a technique we've perfected over the years! So much easier on dry land, rather than when she's on the water. A few more trips up and down the field, carrying the booms and both masts and the bag of tools up to the trailer. Hard going through the mud; Ollie only managed a couple of trips and then rested in the car!
Home and we got the masts onto the garage roof and the sails, booms, halyards and sheets sorted out. Next step will be the farmer lifting Peridot lower down the shore so Mike can get her afloat, but there's no hurry as she's safe where she is for the time being.
Although a chilly wind had picked up, it was at least a good, dry and sunny day for getting everything done. Another thing ticked off the list!
