Early Morning Clouds

There is an old expression amongst an older geneŕation of climbers, of which sadly I am one, is that you " don't set off too early but let the weather develop", which was really just an excuse to fester longer in your sleeping bag (pit). Despite that I was off early, not too early, old habits die hard, this morning. Seeing these clouds roll over the summits I was wondering if there was some truth in the wisdom of old. It did turn out to be a decent day albeit with snow showers.
