Doe Eyed
Straight back into camouflage mode having rolled in early this morning, with thankfully an incident free but slightly stressful journey home! The deer were in the field!
Even getting out of the house was an achievement in itself as keys were not in their usual places, let alone trying to open doors noiselessly too. Found a button, 'silent mode' on the camera - not that silent but better than previous noises and cautiously crept up to the shrub border. The deer listen to the bird alerts so trying not to disturb the blackbirds and robin amongst others I stood quietly motionless just watching.
The deer move very daintily yet have such powerful movements when they need to get away but they were both calmly feeding on the long uncut grass. I was slightly perturbed to see some quite nasty scratches behind her forelegs which look rather like barbed wire rips. She has such a sweet gentle face and I could see where the expression 'doe-eyed' comes from - and that was just me!
Although they had looked occasionally in my direction, 98 hand held shots later I left them, rather than them bolting away!
I will start catching up on my commenting soon and looking forward to seeing all your blips - it may take a while!!!
Viewing in large is a must - I've been told and would actually agree! :) Thanks Geebliping.
