Tiny Tuesday: Spikey

As 20-year season ticket holders to the Washington Wizards Basketball team, we were invited today to go on a road trip to Philadelphia to see them play the 76er's.  In order to avoid bad traffic in either city, they had us leave via bus at 1 p.m.  We arrived at the arena at 4 pm and had 3 hours to kill before the arena opened at 7 for an 8 pm game.  It was bitterly cold, so most of the folks headed off to a nearby bar, but we know Philly very well, so we headed downtown and parked ourselves in the lounge at the Ritz Carlton, where it was warm and quiet and there we enjoyed some delicious cappuccino and took care of some phone calls in lovely surroundings. It was while we were sitting there that I noticed these spikey decorative globes so grabbed a close-up shot for the challenge. 

When we returned to the arena, we watched the game from a fully catered suite, which made for a most pleasant game.  Plenty of food and drink, lush, comfortable leather seats, private toilet facilities.  It was the second night of a road trip for our team so they didn't perform very well.  It didn't matter to me because I watched the Vegas-Pittsburgh hockey game on my phone.  I haven't missed a VGK (Vegas Golden Knights) game yet, so I wasn't about to miss this one against the defending Stanley Cup Champs.  VGK lost, but it was a very exciting game.  Final score 5-4.
