Sparriger Schüppling

commonly known as the shaggy scalycap, the shaggy Pholiota, or the scaly Pholiota (thank you Wikipedia). Easy to get this confused with Honey Fungus (or Hallimasch auf Deutsch). You can eat it but it doesn't taste of much, unlike the Honey Fungus.

An interesting word that came up today was Pfaffe. I know I use it in English in a pejorative sense, as in "Stop pfaffing around" but in one of those "hey I quite like that" moments, I discovered that "der Pfaffe" is an oldish German word for the priest.

Today's Blip was found on a walk in the woods just before we went shopping. We don't need to buy mushrooms for this weekend, we found another couple of kilos of prime eating mushrooms. If you care to drop by for breakfast, please feel free.
