Reflections on a Winter's day.

Four of us went out into the 'wilds' of Warwickshire today to scout out a site for a proposed boat gathering later this year. This part of the Coventry Canal, just south of Atherstone, is wonderfully rural and a favourite for boaters. 
As part of the Local Plan however, there is a proposal for massive house building just north of where the photo was taken. Whilst we need houses and indeed factories and other buildings, there has been little consideration in recent years to enhance the land adjacent to the canal network for whoever lives there to enjoy. 

We hope to highlight the problem with our proposed Inland Waterways Association Boat Gathering, but at the moment we haven't yet got agreement to hold it so watch this space and wish me luck. Firstly, we have to convince our Branch Chairman....
