Lapwing .... not the feathered variety though!

This is a Galanthus 'Lapwing' snowdrop. A visit today to Cambo Estate where their Snowdrop Festival is well under way. Hundreds of what we would call 'ordinary' snowdrops but L and I are always looking for the slightly more unusual varieties.

According to Google this robust early flowering snowdrop is a must for any collection. The snowdrop is easily identified with its gently shaded X shaped inner marking.
