WideWednesday: St. Vrain Greenway

This was a quick shot taken between my dentist appointment and picking up Pipersdad's birthday cake.  This trail follows the river for about 10 miles and another 10 miles to the west is planned over the next few years.  That will take it all the way to the base of the foothills.  It would have been done by now but there was a big flood in 2013 that wiped out large portions of the trail (among other things) and repairs are still underway.  So there are still some gaps but it is mostly all reconnected.  Thank you to steveng for hosting WideWednesdays while Bob is on holiday!

I am grateful that my dear husband survived a terrible firefight in Vietnam 50 years ago today, on his 23rd birthday.  Sadly, it still haunts him.
