Fishing boats

This is the other type of fishing boat used here. This one has a slightly larger crew and goes further afield. They use a purse net and each morning the boats fine into the beach and the crew then jump out and with the help of others spend about 30-40 minutes hauling in the net to the sound and rhythm of a chant. ....with a huge audience of holiday makers.
The main catch is a small silver fish which I haven't seen on sale in the restaurants so I guess it is eaten locally.
The next shot is of stitch work to the side of the boat. I would have said the boat was wooden, but perhaps there is a pitch canvas cover to shine of them

The third shot is an over the day store for the contents of the boat. Under a woven palm leaf wigwam.
