There is a saying in photography, "That what's outside the rectangle doesn't exist". Looking at this shot, it is hard to imagine that this phrase is not far from wrong. However this is a main street and it was bustling, and yet, for that one moment when I snapped this shot, it was like nothing else existed. When the photographer takes a shot he occupies a certain space, does that position influence the photograph? Uncanny.
