What on earth is this?!

A couple of day's ago I went to a local pub with my wife, my daughter and a close friend of ours. I liked the ambient colours and took a shot, but it wasn't until I came to process it that I noticed this 'pointy-thing'. I can't believe I didn't see it because I walked past it, but I'm now left speculating.  Anybody any suggestions?
