Rochester

Drive to Rochester today to visit the Huguenot museum exhibition and lunch in our favourite thai resturant.

The Huguenot museum documents the travel to England of these refugees from France who were escaping Catholic persecution in the 16c. They were well skilled and welcomed by many except for those who feared they would take their jobs! Not much has changed in 500 years then!

We then visited the cathedral which had many 70273 project crosses on display. This project commemorates through simple red stiched crosses the murder of this number of people between Jan 1940 and Aug 1941, they were deemed unworthy of life by Hitler!

Good to be a tourist so near to home :-)

Happy Friday. . .
