Away from the Desk
Each lunchtime I try to take my allotted hour away from the desk by walking into town - it doesn't always happen! Today though, I justhad to make the time in order to buy dinner for Mum and myself.
Our office is on the outer side of a dual carriageway which runs round the centre, and the recommended route is though the 1960-70s concrete pedestrian tunnels and paths round the main car park - not exactly pretty or inspirational. My preferred route is to take my life in my hands, and cross the road which leads directly to the council offices, police station, skatepark, leisure centre and library. These are built round an open green space, complete which pond, which is very popular on sunny, warm days for taking some time out of the busy day for sandwiches in the fresh air.
Today there was not much sun in evidence, and I blipped this on the way back in the pouring rain. The weather may have been miserable, but these trees glowed in their autumn glory.
