Do Pay The Ferryman...

Today we visited Lake Bled in Slovenia with Tina Hiti who apparently is very famous as she is the tour guide Rick Steves travelled with when he did his Slovenia travel programme.

In the middle of Lake Bled is an island with a church on it. Ringing the bell in the church is meant to bring you great luck. To get to the bell you have to pay someone to row you over in a traditional boat, then climb the 99 stone steps to the church.

Luckily we made it and got to ring the bell, and then after all that exertion Tina took us for coffee and cakes.
