On the Crest of A Wave
Today we said our farewells to the island of Libong, and travelled by long tailed boat across to a little port on the mainland where we boarded a high speed ferry that took us north to Koh Lanta, by way of the islands of Muk, Kradan and Ngai. A couple of the islands have jetties that the boat can pull up against, but on one or two there was no jetty so the very skilful boat handler had to reverse as close as he could to the beach where passengers would disembark or alight, along with their luggage.
On Lanta I'd booked a room for the night, and it was only about a minute's walk from the ferry, and was absolutely perfect - immaculately clean, and extremely quiet too. I'd also done my research on the restaurants in that area, so later on we dined at a great seafood place.
Tomorrow on to Koh Puh, which is the name of the north end of the island of Koh Jum.
This is the view from my seat at the back of the speed boat you can see in the distance to the right, the islands of Kradan and Ngai, as well as the boat's three 250HP engines - we were almost flying!
My extras are some ladies that were waiting at the jetty on Koh Libong.
