Ouch ! This tree is harder than I thought!

The red belly was finding grubs in the locust , but judging by the look on his face as he was pounding it with his beak , it was a little harder than the maple next door. 
I couldn't resist adding the nuthatch in extras as it has been so long since I have gotten a decent photo of one of these. They have not been showing up at the feeder much . I am starting to think it is because the 20 or so juncos we seem to have accumulated don't leave much room for anything else.:( Not that I don't like juncos , I just miss the chickadees.
The extra should be titled " I do not have a double chin!" My smart aleck husband asked if I had any personal reason for that title......
