Lilleshall Abbey
We had the morning singing and being challenged with lots of fresh music, some of it quite modern which gives unusual and unexpected intervals and rhythms.
After lunch we went our separate ways for the afternoon. The forecast had been for rain but, as it was still largely dry, some of us went off to Lilleshall Abbey. This is a ruined Augustinian religious house, of great reputation and prestige until the 14th century when shortage of cash lead to its gradual decline and failure. The buildings were originally spectacular although the cash flow situation may mean that some were not ever completed.
The mizzle had set in so we returned to the hotel - John to watch the rugby and me to shower and blip! More singing after the meal again tonight,
