Big rock
We took the boys through the woods and up to the moor, about 3 miles of rough muddy walking, which they loved. We stopped for ages at a tree root to poke with sticks, then hacked our way through the ‘jungle” which is a part with overgrown rhododendrons, where James said if any lions came he’d chase them with his big stick, then on to the best bit, this rock they like to climb up and slide down. It all took ages so it was a rush to make some lunch for them and get them home for James’s swimming lesson. I was impressed he can swim on his back. At aged 3 he is fearless, whereas Ella at 6 is still trying to overcome her fear.
We all went out to a family- friendly cheap Italian for our tea. It was fun to see a table of four 12 year old lads out on their own, and another separate one of 6 younger girls. They could get spagbol for £4.95. What a lovely thing for them to do opat 6pm on a Saturday night.
We went back and had some cake and fizz to celebrate #2 daughter being 43.
