Best not go too close...
It's been one of those days. You know, one of those you will never forget?
It started at 4.30am when the alarm went off and then by 5.15 we were on the open transport into Kruger. Within minutes we had seen elephants! There is a drastic overpopulation of them in Kruger and we certainly saw quite a few of them today.
We have seen Elephants, giraffes, impala, rhinos, lions, hyenas, zebras, water buffaloes, antelope, nyalla, mongoose, baboons, crocodiles, hippo, eagles, vultures, European rollers, kingfishers, and probably others I've forgotten. It has been truly wonderful to be so close to all these stunning creatures...
We got within about 10 metres away from this pride of lionesses and their cubs. Oh gosh. And they just lay there in the shade of the tree, panting and occasionally opening a lazy eye...
And in the extra you can see one of the elephant family who came to play in the water.
We know we've been shaken around in a tough vehicle today, but we are going back for more tomorrow.
