Quail Island

It was looking like we might have had a good sunset tonight, with a norwest sky, but there was too much cloud in the west and it didn't happen. So my shot for today is from the crater rim up on Mt Pleasant looking down into Lyttelton Harbour, and Quail Island. We often walk to this spot in the early morning. At an exhibition in the Christchurch Art Gallery, I once saw an engraving from the late 19th Century of the same scene from this very spot. It looked much the same, a bit more vegetation, but surprisingly little has changed.
