Santa Fe Snow
We awoke this morning to an inch of snow, just enough to make everything look so nice. It was very cold, but we ventured over to Canyon Road anyway. Canyon Road is a 1/2 mile street with about 100 art galleries. As it was Sunday, not all of them were open, but many were. As we strolled along the street we came across this quintessential Santa Fe home which looked so pretty in the snow.
We left Santa Fe and headed down the Turquoise Road to Albuquerque. We stopped at the Zoo but were quite disappointed. Many of the habitats were empty, or the animal was sleeping in a corner that was barely visible. The animals didn't look that well cared for and in fact, at some of the exhibits there was a written notice acknowledging this and reporting that the animal was under medical care. When we got to our hotel, I did a little google search and discovered that the zoo has been criticized for using temporary, poorly trained employees in the last 5 years but currently has plans to add staff and correct the situation. I certainly hope so.
I have added a few shots from today's snow and the zoo on Flickr.
