Fur Seal

A New Zealand Fur Seal, Arctocephalus forsteri, I photographed in Kaikoura today. A long days traveling from Blenheim to home, with hold ups at lots of Road Works still being undertaken in the Kaikoura region after the 2016 Earthquake. A quick wander around the shops and a drive down to the foreshore which has been raised extensively after being thrust up from the Earthquake. This young Seal was sunbathing on the rocks and moved closer to the beach as the tide come in.
