This pot is cooking rice for 250 people. Definitely wouldn't be waiting for the pot to come to the boil on this one, you'd be waiting forever. It measures about a metre in diameter!
They do use gas and electric cookers, but when it comes to producing rice in such quantities, an open fire with free fuel is the cheapest and very efficient favoured option.
