Our first poker match since July and yours truly was first to depart the table after taking a few too many gambles. On the other hand I had plenty of spare time to find a blip and sample the nibbles that were provided by our Dutch/French hosts. (Oscar from The Odd Couple would never have approved of this).

Slowly and surely the six were reduced to just two chip holders, Marie and Loz. Marie won the last July match on the heads-up against Loz and bought herself some shoes with her 25 euros winnings and perhaps her mind was already dreaming of heels, straps and buckles as the Mancunian Turk pulled out a daring all-in final hand with only a queen high. Marie followed in with an equally weak but lower hand which resulted in the fact that she will not be purchasing any new footwear on Saturday. Probably.
