'Normality'... ?
...Our version of it anyway.
Having had a lovely night away, and taken in a moving and perfect Memorial Service, we met with old and dear friends and enjoyed a meal and some theatre.
Back to the robins today.
We had woken to further snow (which is becoming the norm) but by the time I went out into the garden (having shopped) it was beginning to melt.
I didn't have time to take more than half a dozen shots today and this one is probably the best of the bunch (this is the male, I feel quite certain).
An elderly relative has had her purse stolen.
It contained so much information vital to her (like her G.P.'s number) as well as the usual purse stuff, including money. She's a resilient woman and has lived through a lot, but I have never, ever, heard her cry like this before. She clearly did not know which way to turn to sort out the mess she finds herself in, and is left feeling incredibly vulnerable as well as shocked.
What an unkind thing to do to an elderly person.
May some good come of it somewhere, somehow.
The good news in this sorry tale is that the assistants in the shop where she found herself unable to pay, owing to the missing purse, were kindness personified in helping her and comforting her.
A massive thank you to them all.
'Normality', is usually kindness isn't it?
