Exercise Class

I think my mother had a dress like the plaid on the right; she called them everyday dresses. For a long time her dresses would have a chain of safetypins for diapers, sometimes, there were three in diapers at the same time. But, by the time of these polyester dresses, her daughters were wearing dresses and pantyhose, too. Nothing Nike yet.
I love seeing this photo in the Mittelman Jewish Community Center where I went to a concert today. These women took an exercise class, my Mom would lay on the carpet in her farmhouse to do sit ups and stretching with a bunch of kids on the floor playing along.
