MonoMonday 212 Silhouettes

This morning  our decorator arrived bright and early, so Mr MC and I decided to take a walk around Connaught Water to wake ourselves up, before getting on with the dreaded office work.  The sky was a beautiful clear blue and the temperature low, but the frost confined itself to the cars  and ground level, so no chance of frosted berries and leaves today!
I was torn between two challenges today: MonoMonday and AOG 2018.  As you see, I've gone with MM for my main shot. The theme is  Silhouette and our host Kangazu.  At this time of year the light through bare trees is striking so I couldn't resist.
As always the waterfowl at Connaught Water are endlessly fascinating and so I'm adding in extras an entry for Dbifulco's 2018 AOG challenge. There was  a great deal of action at the lake this morning and here you see the gulls going through their early morning stretching routine as they prepare for the group aeronautic display event.

Our walk was cut short as my legs and hands   began to feel extremely itchy.  I have experienced this very occasionally before when out in the cold and a quick search on the internet revealed this!  has anybody else experienced the same?
