Dragonera Island

Our last day and we drove a few miles up the coast to a little village called Sant Elm.
One of out favourite spots as it is unspoilt, being off the beaten track.

This is the view of Sa Dragonera which is an island just off shore.
Uninhabited, it has two watch towers built in the 18th century, to look for pirates.
In 1910 they built two lighthouses, one on the north side and one on the south west.
In 1974 there were plans to build a casino and hotel, but these were turned down.
In 1982 part of the film adaptation of Agatha Christie's mystery "Evil Under The Sun" was shot on the island.

In Summer you can take a boat trip across for the day and explore, but we have never done this.

We found another nice family run restaurant overlooking the bay, where we had their menu of the day including 1/2 ltr of wine only 11.95 euros.
Spaghetti to start, then fish(don't know what but tasted delicious)
and fresh vegetables, and to finish a very yummy chocolate icecream cake.
Will definately go back next time.
