Ten Seated Figures

Today was the ideal day to visit what, in my view, is not just the best sculpture park in Yorkshire but the best sculpture park in the World. If anyone wishes to suggest a better one, I will visit it as soon as I can, as anywhere better than the YSP would be utterly remarkable.

Today the combination of blue sky and autumn leaves made the Park's blissful English landscape utterly delightful.

It was my first visit since I started blipping. So today's choice was a tough one. On my shortlist were:

1. A curious figure by Joan Miro;
2. The old boat house;
3. A detail from one of the many works by Barbara Hepworth;
4. This close-up of a new work by Richard Long - Red Slate Line;
5. Richard Long's 71 Steps;
6. This view through a Henry Moore; and
7. The exit from the Skyspace, a deer shelter that gives a haunting view of the sky.

I chose this blip, of a 2010 work by Magdalena Abakanowicz, as it was the most striking of the new works, installed since my last visit.
