Portland coastguard helicopter over Lyme Regis

A nice day today but the sun was often obscured by a haze. This picture was taken from the Marine Parade as the helicopter was flying Westwards to a call out I suspect. This machine is only 2 or 3 years in service and is smaller, but faster than the one it replaced. When I was on the Lyme Regis lifeboat crew I was lucky enough to get to fly in the coastguard helicopter whilst on exercise. There is no better way to see the local landscape than from only a 100 or so feet up.
