Signs of Promise
This season has been a struggle for my team Neath, we lost experienced players during the off season and are suffering from some financial turmoil which raised its ugly head last season. Our last home performance was embarrassing and the future looked really bleak.
However, today we beat Bedwas 45-27 in the British & Irish Cup and it was a performance with positive signs which give hope for the future, although clearly we still need to work on our defence. Our backs looked like they had a bit more of an idea as to what to do with the ball when we have it, which is something we've struggled on for some time. Outside half Dai Langdon controlled the match really well, and the centre partnership of Kyle Davies and Ryan Evans looked like it plenty of potential. Our pack was going forward, until the second half, and hooker Rhodri Clancy was a stand out for me, very active around the park and good at the lineout.
To celebrate I'm now going to tuck into Chilli Con Carne and a bottle of red wine. Lush!
