Cheeky!

Day 2 in Arenal and today we went to the hanging bridges where our guide Victor took us on a 2 and a half hour walk through the rain forest including crossing 9 suspension bridges. Another fascinating walk which we enjoyed so much we booked ourselves onto a night walk with him. That was a completely different experience with regard to the wildlife we saw - really opened our eyes to what had been lurking around us, hidden away in the undergrowth when we had visited in the morning - lots of huge spiders, scorpions, various snakes (including a very large Fer de Lance) and, of course, frogs. My favourite was the orange kneed tarantula walking along the handrail of the bridge. 'Don't touch that,' said Victor, ' - I didn't!
The picture is a coatimundi which was roaming in a big group on the drive up to the bridges car park. There are signs all along the roads warning you not to feed the animals and yet it was amazing the number of idiots who thought it was ok to offer them biscuits, crisps etc. The car behind us was a case in point, a young Japanese guy got out and tried to hand feed them crisps. Needless to say they ran to him en masse , clawed his legs and ran off into the undergrowth with  the bag. Idiot.
My extras are a photo of the volcano, this is the most we saw of it, and some of the night critters.
