Potholes!

Nothing to Blip today so Ann stuck me in front of a pothole and said she might as well have a RANT!



Edinburgh must have the worst roads and pavements in the UK for potholes. This pothole is actually very minor compared to some of the potholes we encounter on the roads. And when Edinburgh council do a repair job......................... all it is; is a temporary fix. They tarmac over the holes but do not actually deal with the problem. It's like they are just putting a sticking plaster over it, so consequently, within a few months the pothole opens up again, bigger and deeper.



It would be interesting to know how much of the budget is set aside for the numerous people who must make claims for compensation due to either damage to their car or injury to a person (or gorgeous little collie) due to driving into a hole or falling into a hole??!! Ann has tripped, on more than one ocassion, whilst walking me on ridiculously uneven pavements. And she's a relatively fit and active person. Imagine what it must be like for old people or blind people. This Blip is of the road outside the school for the blind. How blind people crossing this road don't fall into a big deep hole, we don't know??!!



And it's not as if Edinburgh Council Tax is cheap – it's not. Sometimes one wonders what the council do actually spend our money on. The bins in the parks were full to overflowing at Christmas/New Year.



However, I guess Ann is guilty of what the majority of the population is guilty of......................... she has a bit of a RANT every now and again but doesn't actually get involved in trying to change anything. So at the end of the day, is she really entitled to RANT???



PS – Just out of interest............. would appreciate comments from any Edinburgh Blippers re the state of the roads/pavements in this fabulous city.
