Mr Mallard
Lovely sunny afternoon after a really misty start to the day, so we went out for a drive to admire the autumn colours. Who needs to go abroad, when it's all here?
Visited Peel Farm in the Angus Hills, a favourite watering hole for us and for the lovely ducks on their pond. This mallard looked splendid in the sunshine, so he's my blip for today. (The detail is best seen in large.)
Watched more birds at a nearby RSPB reserve, especially swans which were behaving strangely. Two males "dancing" around each other, moving like synchronised swimmers. We think it was warning behaviour,as there was a female and some cygnets nearby, but it never became aggressive. Can any "twitchers" confirm that's what it was?
