Life in a Northern Town

Long Day

It’s been a long and frustrating day - not because of these two lovely ladies, but because our external payroll providers are just utterly and completely useless. If ever you want a recommendation as to whom to avoid like the plague for payroll, let me know!

The drive home was painfully slow and I arrived home with a bad back to find that of course the @*!!@*&@%* drive man hasn’t been again, so I had to park on the street. I grabbed my case from the boot forgetting that it wasn’t zipped up so every last item fell out onto the muddy wet street, including my wash bag, which then spilled its contents out too so I had to chase my deodorant and perfume as they rolled down the road. Walked into the house to a catalogue of complaints about the dog who had just arrived back too. I’m exhausted!

Ps - some good news. At the wildlife Rescue yesterday morning there was a sparrow hawk who needed to be hand fed - and I mean literally needing the food, which was best stewing steak, shoving down her throat with tweezers because they don’t tend to eat in captivity. I held her twice while Kathy fed her, and Kathy would have had to feed her again in the afternoon and evening. I’ve just heard that she is now eating on her own and can be released tomorrow - what a success story, Kathy is an angel!
