Farewell to the Lake District

Reluctantly left LPH and some lovely new friends to start the journey home. I couldn't resist stopping at Thirlmere lay-bye to snap this scene with the compact amongst a crowd of camera waving Japanese tourists as the clouds began to lift from the mountain.

En- route I de-toured to Keswick museum where the touring exhibition of the 'Wildlife Photographer of the Year' is on show until November. I would urge any one with the slightest interest in wildlife and/or photography to go and see the stunning inspirational images in this exhibition which is now touring the country.

This has been my best visit to Cumbria ever and will certainly return next year. In the meantime looking forwards to a good nights sleep and a week in the New Forest next month.
