Time for a coffee

Today we visited the Finca Los Castanos, the last coffee plantation on Gran Canaria.

Coffee production has declined as the water supply has reduced, due to global warming,

We saw the whole sequence from small plants to well grown coffee trees with some in flower and others with fruit ready to pick.

The fruits are then dried naturally for a month and the blip shows the machine which removes the outside skin to release the coffee bean, a lot of effort for a cup of coffee.
