Thursday: Waiting for Michelle
I really wish I could have shown you the occupant of one of these chairs but there was a strict no camera policy in place. I was lucky enough today to have been invited to 'A Conversation With Michelle Obama'.
She was everything you would expect her to be. Witty, engaging, compassionate and inspirational. She spoke about her time in the White House, her own journey and the importance of mentoring/working with young people.
Her messages should, in this day, be self-evident but they bear repeating: be engaged, educate yourself, be kind, know that there are people who will regard you as a role model and be aware of that, make time for yourself, and know the right place for social media. Don't let it dominate and stop posting pictures of your food! Put the phone away and engage, face to face.
