Sally Mair - Loving life

Thank you everybody for your kind stars and hearts on my elephant yesterday. I was thrilled to find myself in the popular pages.

This is one of my favourite South Indian breakfasts. It is made from a rice flour dough which is pressed through a grid to make little patties of noodle type shapes. It is then steamed for around 10 minutes and served hot or cold with heated coconut and sugar and sometimes milk. It can be served as a savoury too, but I like it sweet. (In Sri Lanka the same dish is called string hoppers)
This picture is of the lady who helps my friend with her cooking, and used with her consent. I've a similar photo from around 15 years ago
She hasn't changed a bit!
