Quantum Physics

This is my Deep Thinking day, I have one every so often.
What will it take to build a quantum computer? Will it be silicon based or use biological nano machines? What would have happened if they didn't find the Higgs Boson? Do you think it is possible to create your own future just by believing in your own visualisations?
I find it amazing that in 1849 Hippolyte Fizeau was the first person to measure the speed of light using only a mirror and a cog and while on the subject of light just how can light be a wave and a particle and how does it change when we observe it?

And finally ... what does a String look like?
