When I first arrived at the allotment I thought it strange that there were no birds at all on the almost full feeders - it wasn't until she stretched and came to greet me that I realised this rather well camouflaged creature had been sunning herself at the foot of the wall.
I did some general tidying and sowed a few broad beans where there were gaps amongst the November sowing. Also planted three more garlic cloves that apparently originated in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan. They might find Edinburgh's climate a bit on the soft side, I guess. They came to me via a circuitous route.
It was the first time this year that I could feel some warmth in the sun. Might even have managed a bit of vitamin D.....
