This
reflection of the window (and outside) in the painting above our bed caught my eye this morning as I (eventually) got up having enjoyed breakfast in bed and then completing yesterday's Scotsman Crossword.
The painting is by Helen Glassford from the Tatha Gallery in Newport-on-Tay. She does the most wonderful landscapes and seascapes - really capturing feelings remoteness.
Tatha, as I discovered on last weeks Sunday walk from reading the forestry commission signs is the Gaelic for Tay. Inspired by a book that MrT bought yesterday (Hidden Ways by Alistair Moffat) we are planning to walk the course of the Tay from Fortingall to Perth as one of our new walking goals (not all at once though - in a series of stages). I like having a goal to focus on - a couple of years back we took a similar approach with the Cateran Trail. Other plans for this include Moonwalk, Kiltwalk, bagging a few more Munros and Corbetts and the Lairig Ghru (in September as part of an organised hike which will a new departure for us)
This focus this afternoon, however, is turning to crime with Val McDermid at the Winter Words this afternoon, followed by Fun Loving Crime Writers this evening; the later being a band of crime writes including Val McDermid. Should be different.
Have a lovely weekend all.
Update: and we had a mighty fine time st Fun Lovin' Crime Writers
