Tree Witch

A walk today in Wendover Woods, owned by the Forestry Commission and undergoing quite an overhaul.

Lovely walk through the woods under a blue sky - including a route around the perimeter ramparts of Boddington Hill Fort - a Bronze Age camp that is slowly being exposed by clearing much of the smaller trees.

There I found this rather challenging and gruesome face in a tree.  I wonder if there is a story there?
