Relief!

Today's Kyoto Marathon started really well. At about 19 kilometers I passed the four hour pace setters, and a while later I passed my ultra-marathon running friend. Unfortunately, I couldn't maintain it. At about 25 kilometers I started to get cramp and a couple of kilometers later the four hour pace setters took over me and there was no way I could catch up with them. A couple of times I felt like giving up with the pain, but I didn't. I only walked about 500 meters in total and plugged on to a 4:45 finish, adjusted to 4:41. Not very good, but considering how awful I felt, I think it was pretty good. I think the problem was the cold causing cramp and now I feel lousy with a cold, which is probably why I felt dizzy and almost fainted at one point.
