Not Bothered

After all my laments about the skittishness of our deer populations in the West Midlands, these three red deer were quite comfortable chomping away while several people walked nearby.  We'd had a quick walk around Chasewater Reservoir and these deer were just by the dam wall opposite the Innovation Centre.

There are signs in the area notifying people of the introduction of car park charging in the next few weeks.  I'm conflicted by this as on the one hand charging people to park might reduce the number of people making use of this public space, but on the other I can understand the need for the county council to bring in more income after the grant from central government has been drastically reduced over the last few years.

It's also been interesting to see many young people in the USA make their voices heard.  The horror at Parkland Florida is still fresh in our minds and to see American youth mobilise in this way is inspiring.  I hope they achieve their goal.
