Faro and beyond

Headed for the beach at Faro to spend a few hours before our flight. Gorgeous beach which stretches for miles. It's part of a nature reserve ...which is particularly beautiful apart from the large aircraft landing every few minutes.

Evening flight home which was delayed arriving at Gatwick. We had to board the same plane to Edinburgh but in order to do this we had about a 2 mile dash back through Gatwick checkin only to board the same plane. Pain in the arse...when we got back onboard the captain said we should have just hidden in the toilets!!!

30 mins later we hit some turbulence (for that read...roller coaster weather!) no 3 slept through it..pity because she always reads the full safety leaflet and practises the Brace position...then asks when are we going to ditch in the sea and get the bouncy castle out!!

Knew it was turning hairy when drinks were flying off tables and captain said 'attendants...secure the cabin and take your seats immediately'.....the couple behind admitted later to removing their shoes and saying their goodbyes. It was a bit surreal.

But we hit the cold clear skies of Scotland and arrived safely. Think the BA cleaning staff will be working overtime to get the stains off some of the seats!!!!

Home now...glass of wine and a midnight curry as we laugh it all off.
